Epic Shirtmakers is an online MTM clothier with their specialty in custom shirt making. They offer a wide range of fabrics, many of which you will not find offered from other online custom clothiers. They offer a relatively user friendly website making the design process reasonably easy. It left me wanting a more robust interface… but what they have is fine enough. Given their appeal for daring fabrics, I ordered a crazy gingham check shirt. I designed the shirt with a one button barrel cuff, spread collar and a traditional placket. The garment arrived in just a few weeks, packaged very well. The fit is fair, but not as slim as I generally prefer. For most people I am sure it would be ok. I am interested in the potential of Epic Shirtmakers as they are pushing the envelope of fabrics and options.
{UPDATE} the competition is beginning to offer some equally inspiring fabrics and they even have better visual layouts. Epic still has some good products, but now they’ll need to play catch up. If you find a shirt fabric on the epic site that you like, they are still worth a try because of their attention to detail and fabric selection.
